BeatBuddy volume control from MorningStar MC8
I use the super cool feature “MIDI Dictionary” and select “BeatBuddy from SingularSound”
I the “Select Parameter” dropdown I can select “Mix Volume” cc#108 but the value is permanent
How do I increment/decrement the CC value so that I can change the volume via a foot switch on my MC8?
I can se a member has more less the same quistion
I’m going to be using my MC8 to control the following pedals …
MC8 → BeatBuddy (midi channel 1) > Boomerang Looper (midi channel 16 for sync) → Strymon Mobius (midi channel 2) → Timeline (midi channel 3) → BigSky (midi channel 4) → MC8.
I’m starting out with the MC8 controlling BeatBuddy, then will send the MIDI clock from BeatBuddy to the Boomerang Looper. Then go from there.
I have a couple of questions I can’t find the answer to. I’ve read the users manual and read everything I can find …
but don’t seem to get any answer
and also the very good video made by Morningstar about MC6 and Beatbuddy
the “Mix volume” is done by a control pedal - I would like to do that on the MC8 directly
but how ??
thx in advance
John
Hi,
I’d recommend to use an expression pedal.
But if you want to do this with a foot switch take a look at the ‘scroll counter’ feature.
Scroll counters can be set up in ‘controller settings’.
Programm a preset with ‘CC value scroll’, choose CC# 108 and the counter you want to use.
Hi GuitarWolf - thx for your suggestion
but I prefere to keep amount of pedals limit
but I found a solution:
the same for volume down
thx
John
I am new to the Morningstar MC6 Pro and Beat Buddy 2 but well on my way I must say! I have tried to mimic what was done above… but to no avail. Would someone be able to lend me a helping hand? If I get a response I’d be happy to paste my the MC6 Pro menu for added clarification.
Cheers & thanks John
