Bank Arrangement within Profiles

Hi!

Just switched from the MC6 MkII to the MC6 Pro, and I’m starting to optimize my setup.

I use a single pedalboard for different projects, with the MC6 Pro being the brains of the operations. Using different Profiles seems to be a great solution for what I have in mind. I rely on the Bank Arrangement tool to organize my setlists, however it looks like this feature reflects on every profile, which kinda messes things up.

@james do you think using a different Custom Bank Sequence per profile is something that could be implemented, or that it’s not doable?

Cheers, Tim

(If anyone is interested or has alternative ideas, here’s where I’m at at the moment:)

I need to navigate between various common utility banks, song preset banks, and different setlists per project.

The standard workflow I came up with is to have one bank per song, a couple of standard playlists (i.e. Full set, Opening act) and a few custom playlists for specific events.

What I came up with so far is this :

  • storing all my utilities presets, song presets and setlist shortcuts in fixed positions

  • using the Custom Bank Sequence mode to create different setlist orders, which would allow me to reuse the same banks in a different order at every gig without the hassle of updating my setlist on the computer before.

However, the Custom Bank Sequence itself is limited to 128 banks, which in my case would be fine for a single project but turns out to be problematic when you add a couple more. If that doesn’t make sense, let’s say for one band there is one repertoire of 25 songs, and 4 different setlist orders. The actual number of banks used per band is 25, but the actual Custom Bank Sequence count is 100. Fits for Band A, but if Band B has the same needs it doesn’t work.

Hence the idea of using one profile per band, but then Custom Bank Sequence starts being an issue.

Screenshots:

1- Fixed banks (Utility banks, and one bank per song)

2 - Custom order: my ‘setlists’ utility bank points toward dummy setlist banks, which allows me to go to the next song in the setlist by simply banking up.

I agree that it should be different for each profile. Currently, there is only one setting for this. We’ll look into this for the next update.

Wonderful, thank you!

Please keep in mind that some setlists can also be of 40-50 songs.

Using one profile per setlists could also be convenient. Currently it is not the case because you have to save each bank (=song bank) in its own file and then load them in another profile. Not very convenient when all the banks are in the controller

Perhaps there is a more convenient way to manage setlists but I did not find them. I watched the morningstar YT channel about setlist manager but I found this solution less convenient than juste use bank up/down during a gig.

Don’t hesitate to tell me if I missed something
