I’ve had a little over a month to set up my MC8 Pro and ML10X on my pedalboard in preparation for an upcoming tour. I appreciate the inclusion of the Setlist Manager for reordering banks to create custom setlists for live performance. However, I wanted to share some feedback and suggest potential improvements for future updates.
One concern I have is efficiency, particularly in time sensitive situations. In my case, our band often performs sets lasting up to four hours, and touring days can include long travel sometimes eight hours followed immediately by load in, setup, and performance. In these scenarios, minimizing setup time is critical.
I tested the current workflow and found that reordering 45 songs takes over five minutes and that’s working super fast. While functional, the process feels cumbersome. The current method of selecting a bank and then assigning its position via a dropdown menu could be significantly streamlined. A drag and drop interface for reordering banks would make this process much faster and more intuitive.
Additionally, it would be extremely helpful if setlist changes could be applied in real time without requiring a power cycle or reboot to take effect. In live situations, flexibility is key. For example, there may be times when we need to adjust the set on the fly whether to add songs if we’re moving through the set too quickly, or to swap in songs that aren’t part of the current custom setlist.
I believe these enhancements would greatly improve usability, especially for musicians working in fast-paced live environments.
