I have the morning star MC6 that I bought several years ago… I don’t think I’ve updated the firmware for at least a year and a half to two years but the way I use it with reaper is pretty minimal.
Is there any great reason to upgrade the firmware and if I do I presume I need to make a backup from the editor first that I can restore after the firmware update?
Hi! No reason to upgrade if you’re not seeing any issues but upgrade is simple enough: assuming you backup everything first and then follow the “things to do after updating” checklist in the fw download page it’ll be fine, and you can always roll back.
Shouldn’t be any need to factory reset, and the act of updating fw won’t delete anything you’ve already got configured, so the backup is a “just in case” step.
