Android, WIDI and Editor bug?

Hi @james
I’m an Apple user but was replying to an Android user earlier today who’d been encountering issues with Android, WIDI Jack, MC6 Pro and the Chrome Editor. I used an old Samsung tablet with my MC6 Pro and a WIDI Jack, and was able to successfully connect to the Chrome Editor via the Android Bluetooth MIDI Connect app (I couldn’t get the native Android native Bluetooth to pair for some reason).

However, I’ve just come back to this and for some reason, the Editor won’t connect anymore to the WIDI Jack port, even though the WIDI Jack is definitely paired to the tablet and sending MIDI from the MC6 Pro…confirmed using an Android MIDI Monitor app. But no matter how many times I’ve refreshed the editor in Chrome, unpaired/paired the WIDI Jack, restarted the tablet etc, I can no longer get the editor to connect to the MC6 Pro via WIDI Jack. It connects fine via USB but simply won’t connect to the WIDI Jack anymore.

So, it connected once but hasn’t been able to connect since. Any idea what’s going on with this?

EDIT: The Chrome error message (on Android tablet) is “Connection failed. No response from device. Please try refreshing the Editor”

EDIT 2: I’ve just tried again (several hours later) and for some reason, I can now connect the editor on my Android tablet to the WIDI Jack. This is really bizarre because I literally didn’t change a thing.

Cheers
Gary
