I am pretty new to the MC6 but i had just set it up a couple weeks ago and gigged with it working no problems.
This week, Thursday night and Friday I had no issue - Then lastnight i plugged everything in and no midi was being received.
Tried a new Midi Cable, power cable, power cycle on board and MC6.
I control my Boss RC-5 with the relay port and that works fine.
The MIDI box no longer flashes to say MIDI is being received - The MC6 functions like it did before (presets look active on press) So possibly a MIDI box issue but literally everything is the same form the previous night. And new cable didnt fix issue.
I am thinking maybe its something super simple but to anyone with experience is there a quick fix for this?
Is this our MIDI Box or some other device?
Start by plugging your MC6 Pro into the computer and going into the editor’s MIDI Monitor. Press a few switches that you know sends MIDI and see if it’s sending messages. If so, then move on to the MIDI Box. How is it connected to the MC6 Pro? If by DIN, do you have any MIDI DIN pedals you could go direct from the MC6 Pro into that would let you test that output on the MC6 Pro?
Thank you for the reply, I really appreciate the help
Yes it is Morning Star MIDI box.
Here is the crazy thing - I have now plugged everything in and it works perfectly. Can not figure out why it would not at the gig as I power cycled everything 3 times. - Here is hoping it is a one time thing. Again thanks for the help-.
That’s super weird. Let us know if you start seeing any other unexpected behavior. If cables or devices are starting to go bad, it would be good to catch that ASAP.
