I’m using the current v1.2 beta version of the ML10X Editor and the latest beta firmware LATEST_2025-02-07_ML10X_REV_B_Firmware_v_1_2_0_BETA
When I double click a loop in Advanced mode (to turn it from red to green) the success rate is less than 50%. Sometimes it works first time, sometimes I need to double click it like 5-10 times in a row before it turns green. Same issue disabling an active loop (green to red).
Is this a known bug / expected beta behavior? I’m using Chrome on a Mac, connected via USB MIDI.
No wonder I’m struggling. It feels like the hit area is 2px by 2px haha.
Ok I guess I got the hang of it now, but I feel like it could be more user friendly. Why not just a simple click like anywhere in the loop, like the Simple mode? The Simple mode doesn’t accidentally click while dragging loops around, so no reason to avoid that in advanced mode.
I feel like something else is going on too though. I have ONE specific loop (A+) that just won’t engage no matter where I click it. It’s permanently OFF across all presets in advanced mode. In Simple mode it engages and disengages instantly.
It would also be nice, in advanced mode, if I could drag a box over multiple loops to make a selection (or simply shift click multiple loops) and engage the selected loops or move multiple around loops at once. wish list feature.
Just to clarify, are you saying that you can engage that loop in advanced mode (i.e. double-clicking it to turn green), or do you mean that even when it is supposed to be engaged i.e. it is green, it does not engage in the ML10X itself while in advanced mode?
I mean that in Simple mode it works as expected, I can engage and disable the loop (A+). It turns from white to green (off to on).
In Advanced mode, it is always red. Always off. No matter where I double click, even or double click 100 times, it remains off and never turns green. Every other loop works fine in advanced mode.
I just pushed an update to the beta editor where you can single click on the node short name to toggle the bypass. Can you try that and let me know if it resolves the issue for you?
After I sent my last message I did a factory reset on the ML10X, and that fixed the problem with A+. I can now double click any of the loops and the engage and disengage as normal with the regular 1.2 editor.
However, I did try your beta editor. Thanks so much for doing that so quickly. I love the idea of a single click operation. However it’s not just restricted to the short name. It’s also very sensitive to a single click in the corners of the rectangle (the large white areas). This makes it hard to drag loops around because it does the enable/disable action instead.
The simple mode is able to be dragged around without accidentally toggling the enable/disable state. Perhaps the same clicking/dragging code could be utilized for advanced mode?
PS - it’s 2:30am in my time zone, so I must log off now haha. But I will leave it in your capable hands. I’ll check back in the day time. Thanks again!
I love it! It works great. And the solid red or green fill is much nicer, very clear.
As a future feature request, perhaps there could be a keyboard shortcut to toggle the bypass state of a selected loop? Maybe you select a loop and press the return key and it cycles between bypass and engage? This could also be great for multiple selections. (If there is already a keyboard shortcut, apologies, I’m just not aware of one).
