Ability to set multiple toggle reset groups in a single preset

Hello! I’m currently working on setting up a few different devices on my new MC6 Pro. Currently, I am controlling my Darkglass Anagram, Source Audio Soundblox Pro Envelope Filter, and my amp settings via RJM Mini Amp Gizmo. One of my projects is a cover band. We play a ton of different songs, and I’ve made a bunch of presets for them on the anagram. I also switch between different amp settings depending on the song, as well as envelope filter presets. We also have free jams sometimes, and so I also have folders for each of my pedals with lists of presets that I can scroll through. Most of them, if I long-press the preset, take me to another folder with my stomp switch options. The issue that I’m running into is that, ideally, I’d be able to set toggle groups and toggle reset groups per message, rather than per preset. Here’s an example of my problem:

Let’s say that I’m playing a song. When I send the MIDI command for that song, my Genz Benz PREAMP MIX toggle gets set to pos 2 (MIDI channel 3), the Soundblox gets set to preset 3 (MIDI channel 2), and the anagram gets set to preset 20 (MIDI channel 1). Now, I could set a toggle reset group for the preset, but because I have so many combinations of all of these pedals, and since it’s 3 separate pedals, it doesn’t make sense to put everything in the same toggle reset group.

Let’s say that, after this song, we go into an open jam. I decide that I want to set my anagram on preset 20, toggle off the envelope filter, and turn PREAMP mix to pos 1. I believe that, if I follow my current workflow, which is long-pressing a switch to go back to my home screen and then accessing each pedal individually, the active states of the pedals will now be out of sync. So, I’m wondering, is there a way to send a message outside of the toggle reset function to keep the active status of these individual things in sync?

It’s possible that I’m overthinking this, and this is a dumb question. I haven’t had this very long, and I’m still figuring this out, but I haven’t been able to figure this one thing out.

Hi,

I’m not sure if I got you right, but what if you’d set up individual presets for your pedals and operate your song presets like ‘scenes’. Each ‘scene’ is a combination of those individual presets. Instead of programming cc and pc messages to those ‘scenes’ you could use ‘engage preset’ messages to trigger the individual presets. Put your ‘scene’ presets in a toggle reset group and the individual presets in a different reset group ( one for each pedal ).

This should keep everything in sync.

Yes, that should work for the anagram. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. Probably option paralysis since I’m new to the whole “not a bunch of physical pedals” thing. I’m not sure about the other 2 devices, though, as they don’t have a “scenes” function. I’ve been getting around the anagram thing by setting the Morningstar to switch the mode to preset from stomp when I use any of my commands to leave the current “song” folder that I’m in. That way, it resets to the default state.

I could be that I’m overthinking them as well, but we’ll see. I do think that it could be useful to have toggle and toggle reset options for each message or group of messages within a preset, rather than only the whole preset.
