A few confusing issues with my MC8 Pro

I’m curious if a few of these things are normal behavior.

  1. When I press a foot switch with the editor running, it does not jump to that preset. Is that a setting?
  2. A few times now when I load up the editor via USB C, it is slow to load. Some saved banks or presets take a min to load. It shows blank until then.
  3. Lastly, the bluetooth is unusable. Mac M4 Pro and its right next to my computer..

Thoughts?

Hi.

  1. This is default behaviour. If you want a switch press to call up a preset on the Editor, you’ll need to enable that setting under the Editor Settings tab > Load preset data into Editor using Switch Press. Take note of the changes in behavior you will experience when this is enabled, all described below the setting option.
  2. This is not usual. Are you using the web Editor? Which browser are you using?
  3. Bluetooth MIDI connection does not happen like a typical consumer Bluetooth device. Have you followed the instructions shown in this video?

  2. I’m using Chrome. It seems to be working now. I have noticed that certain USB cables can be finicky. Perhaps that was the issue. I’m using a long high speed USB C cable. I don’t believe I have had any issues with the provided MC8 pro cable.
  3. Bluetooth has been finicky. It seems to be working now, but using my iPhone Pro Max 16, it would connect but when I opened the editor, it was not loading any of the bank names. It also would not scroll at all by pressing bank up or down on the editor. After about 3 times, I got it to work. I’ll keep an eye on this one.
